1) Hideo is a teenager who shows a little bit of courage, like when he was leading his friends away from the gun factory and he stood up to the two German soldiers and actually lied to them. sometimes he isn't courageous but smart, like when the Korean communist soldiers went in to the factory. Hideo hid in a box, that sounds like a wimpy thing to do but it was smart because if he stood up and shot at the Korean communist, he would of got killed like his friend.
2) i would bring
20 pounds of water
some food in a back pack or a pouch
cloths
a nife
as much money as i can find.
3) The event when Hideo and his friends get home and find no one there, and they all started crying.

1.) I agree with you Hideo does act that way. But you know that you could expect very good and noble things from himin the book.
2.) I think that what you could of pack in those 10 min could of been some of the last min things that I would have picked to bring.
3.) I think that, that was a sad part as well but I thought that when his friend died in front of him was sad too.
1. Hidayo is a very corageous character. And even though lying is bad, there are sometimes were you have to lie to save your life. This indeed was a time.
2. I think it would be a good idea to bring a knife, t defend yourself, and kill food if you need it.
3. Ican't imagine someone I care about losing his/her life in front of me. It would probably be sickening.
1. I agree with you that he is very courageous. I also think that he is very smart, but that wasn't that wimpy, I think it was more smart than wimpy.
3. I also think that this part was really sad. It must have been heart breaking to see all of their dead family members and thir house broken into.
